Grateful pumpkin by Kit Ishimatsu
Let’s talk GRATITUDE, just in time for the holiday season! During this month’s installment of The Lovely Hour, we’ll have some ice breakers, fun exercises, and thought starters to get all the way into gratitude, beyond lists and gratitude journals (which are great by the way), and let it land a little deeper. We’ll exchange stories and laughter in an informal, light-hearted, safe atmosphere. Plus, we’ll reflect on a tiny but mighty mission designed to inspire you (see below, should you choose to accept it 😊)! As a reminder, these virtual meetups are super casual. Snacks and loungewear welcome and encouraged.
Your Tiny but Mighty Mission (~10 minutes):
Before we meet, choose one song that celebrates life's simple gifts. Suggestions: "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, "Count Your Blessings" by Bing Crosby, or "Thank You For Being a Friend" by Andrew Gold (and the Golden Girls Theme Song) — or pick your own!
But don't just listen—create a small moment around it in whatever way feels good to you! Light a candle, sip your favorite drink, find a cozy spot, close your eyes, or simply smile. Any images, emotions, or memories come up? Does anything surprise or inspire you? Does this song remind you to appreciate anything in your life right now? Take a minute or two to reflect. That’s it! Super simple! Happy listening!
Bonus invitation: If you feel moved, share one line from the song that hit you and why.
